The long-awaited Father Frost lit the garlands of the country's main tree

The sparkling garlands, one after another, rushed to the huge star on the top of the tree, illuminating everybody with a magical glow that announced the imminence of the New Year. The largest New-Year’s tree in the country, set near the Cultural and Entertainment Center “Alem” (“Space”), became the venue for this magical ceremony, where thousands of residents and guests of the capital gathered together to see it.Aijahan ATABALLYEVA
The organizers turned this square into a fairy-tale kingdom, where music and lights pleased the guests from young to old. The atmosphere of the favorite holiday was created by the great masters who invented many unforgettable images that show the traditions of the Turkmen people, centuries-old history and modernity.
Alabai Vepaly, famous among the guests of the Asian Games, will come with us to the coming year - according to the Chinese calendar, the Year of the Dog.
Of course, the main guest of the festival is the local Father Frost, in Turkmen called Ayaz-Baba, who, to the great joy of the children, embodies their most desired dreams. Going along the landmarks of the Great Silk Road, places in all the country's velayats, the lord of winter drew the picture of that time in the minds of people.
The medieval fortress of Amul, located in the east of the country - in the Lebap velayat, has openly embraced the guests from distant lands. That indestructible structure used to be the heart of ancient Khorasan.
Winter wanderers tasted the “true flavor” of the East near the walls of the mausoleum of Sultan Sanjar in the south-eastern region of the country. One could see the true atmosphere of the oriental bazaar, filled with the loud bargains of trading merchants and buyers.
Ayaz-Baba visited Ancient Kunyaurgench in the north of the country - a real storehouse of architectural monuments, a land, impregnated with history.
The meeting of the Ayaz-Baba turned into real folk dances in the western region - the Balkan velayat, where everyone with unconcealed excitement performed the ancient ritual dance of the Turkmen people - kushtdepdi.
Ayaz-Baba completed his adventure visiting the giant “White Yurt” in the foothill areas of the southern region of the country - the Akhal velayat. Traditionally for the Turkmen people, yurt is an embodiment of the home and family.
Passing through the most picturesque places of our capital, the Winter Wizard lit the garlands of the main New-Year’s tree of the country, heartily congratulated everyone on the coming holiday. This was the best gift for many children, in whose eyes the boundless joy of the long-awaited meeting with the Turkmen Father Frost was shining, who is affectionately called here Ayaz-Baba, as you already know.
