Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan, especially in the fields of trade, energy and communications. The Prime Minister expressed his opinion during a meeting with Ambassador of Turkmenistan Atajan Movlamov on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's office.

During the meeting, the importance of cooperation on regional projects and initiatives was also emphasized. In this regard, the Prime Minister stressed that it is necessary to intensify high-level exchanges between the two countries. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also noted the importance of regular meetings within the framework of bilateral institutional mechanisms.

The Ambassador conveyed to the Prime Minister the congratulations of the Turkmen leadership on his re-election. The Prime Minister thanked President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the congratulatory messages. He said that he warmly remembers meetings with them and hopes for the continuation of these exchanges in the future.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan informed the Prime Minister about various planned bilateral events.
