In Dushanbe they get acquainted with the art of Turkmenistan
As part of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, an exhibition of works by Turkmen artists and decorative and applied arts was opened at the National Museum of Tajikistan. Visitors were presented with paintings by contemporary painters, photographs, samples of folk crafts, and musical instruments. They also got to hear traditional music performed live by artists.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of Tajikistan Munuchehr Sharifzoda, Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursahad Sharimov and Director of the National Museum of Tajikistan Zafarsho Ibrokhimzoda, who recalled that in 2017 Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited this museum, being then the President of Turkmenistan.
The museum's guest book contains his wishes to the Tajik people. As part of this visit, the museum was presented with 5 unique exhibits: a coin worth 100 manats, a statue of an Akhal-Teke horse, a copy of the famous image of a wolf’s head from Altyndepe and a copy of the Parthian rhyton from the ancient site of Nisa, as well as a globe depicting maps and flags of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. “In addition, the collections of the National Museum of Tajikistan also contain Turkmen carpets made by skilled Turkmen craftswomen,” the head of the museum added.
In continuation of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, a joint concert program of art masters of the two countries - “Evening of Friendship” - will be held today at the Kokhi Borbad State Complex.
Participants of the Days of Culture on April 5 will go to cities and regions of the republic and present their cultural program to the audience there.
