Turkmenistan Airlines will compete with air carriers on flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur
The national air carrier of Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan Airlines, is strengthening its position by offering foreign tourists flexible routes at affordable prices. Travelpress.kz reports this.
Thus, the Turkmen airline increased the number of flights from Ashgabat to Moscow from five to six times a week. At the moment, the main destinations for tourists from Russia with Turkmenistan Airlines are Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur.
The successful resumption of flights to Bangkok and the increase in available seats for sale in December 2023 resulted in flight occupancy rates of over 90%.
“The increase in the frequency of flights to Moscow is directly related to high demand and sold-out tickets for some dates in February and March,” Anatoly Zubenko, development director of ITM group, the main subagent of Turkmenistan Airlines in Russia commented.
The total travel time for a tourist from Russia to Kuala Lumpur, taking into account connecting flights and waiting time, is about 13 hours. Compared to the alternative route via Dubai, the minimum flight time is 12 hours 35 minutes, but the connecting wait time is approximately 7 hours.
