As part of his visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Deputy General Director of the “Balkan” shipbuilding and ship repair plant held a number of meetings with the management of Royal IHC, a world leader in the field of dredging and dredger construction.

The meetings took place at the Royal IHC headquarters in Sliedrecht. The Deputy General Director of “Balkan” presented the company's management with information about the plant's capacity and technical capabilities, as well as experience in ship repair and a new project for the construction of the first dry cargo ships.

Particular attention was paid to the “Balkan” initiative in developing bilateral cooperation with Royal IHC in the field of localization and joint construction of dredgers in Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed interest in using Royal IHC design documents for the construction of dredgers at the “Balkan” plant. The management of Royal IHC, in turn, enthusiastically supported this initiative and declared their readiness to work together. The parties agreed to develop technical and price proposals for the implementation of the project.

The cooperation between “Balkan” and Royal IHC will be a significant event for the shipbuilding industry of Turkmenistan. It is expected that this partnership will increase the production of dredgers in Turkmenistan, create new jobs, improve the skills of Turkmen specialists, and also reduce the cost of purchasing dredgers.

Currently, more than 90 dredgers of this company are used in Turkmenistan. Cooperation with Royal IHC will allow not only to update the dredger fleet, but also to reach a new level of development of the country's shipbuilding industry.
