Another pardon action in Turkmenistan – 356 people were released


President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a pardon decree in honor of the sacred Night of Omnipotence (Gadyr gijesi). In accordance with the document, 356 convicted citizens of Turkmenistan were released from further serving their main sentence of imprisonment.
Secretary of the State Security Council, Chairman of the Commission for the Preparation of Proposals on Citizenship and Pardon Issues under the President of Turkmenistan, Begench Gundogdyev, was instructed to carry out, together with the heads of law enforcement agencies, the necessary work to release convicts from places of detention and return them to their families in the near future.
Local authorities have been instructed to take appropriate measures to employ those pardoned.
