The President of Turkmenistan received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States


On Wednesday, March 27, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, who arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in events on the occasion of the proclamation of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
The further development of effective and constructive relations with the Turkic states occupies an important place in Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy, the head of state stressed. He noted that since our country joined the Organization of Turkic States in observer status, the dialogue in the format of this structure has been filled with new content.
In this regard, the meeting of the Council of Elders of the OTG held in Ashgabat on March 11-12, as well as the entry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan into the membership of the Union of Chamber of Commerce of Turkic Countries were mentioned.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Kubanychbek Omuraliev also touched upon Turkmenistan's interaction with the International Organization of Turkic Culture – TURKSA and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Makhtumkuli Fraga, whose works are the property of the entire Turkic world.
Turkmenistan welcomes the active participation of OTG in these events, Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, confirming his readiness to expand the formats of cooperation in various fields, primarily in education, science and culture, the Turkmen State Television news outlet reported.
