Traveling lady from USA celebrated her birthday in Central Asia
For Mary Beaumont of Springfield (USA, Illinois), travelling and tourism is not just a hobby, it is the passion of a lifetime. The writer to the Good Housekeeping magazine, a dietitian, Mary detoured almost half the world - she lived in a Maasai thatch hut in Africa, enjoyed all the charms of the Moroccan desert, swam in the so-called "Cleopatra Basin" in Turkey (natural thermal springs where they allegedly bathed Egyptian queen), traveled the steel routes of the Orient Express. However, the voyager preferred to celebrate the 74th birthday in Central Asia, gifting herself an unforgettable tour through the landscapes of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. "I am a very curious person. ... I enjoy meeting people from other cultures and seeing how they live. I always seem to have questions for the guides, and they do everything to help satisfy my curiosity. I think it’s a wonderful way to learn," explains Beaumont the reasons for her special love for traveling. She inherited this obsession from her father, who felt in tourism, above all, an educational value. To date, Mary has visited 50 countries. And every time, returning home, she believes that the experience was the best in her life. The admirer of journeys plans to visit Mongolia, New Zealand, make a famous cruise along the coast of Norway and get to the Arctic, Lapland and Finland.
