The world's first test site for unmanned vehicles using 5G-A IOV (5G-Advanced Internet of Vehicles) technology has opened in Shanghai.

Its length is 205 km.

The peculiarity of 5G-A IOV is the delay in data transmission reduced from 50 to 20 ms. Its development belongs to the Chinese telecommunications company China Mobile, Huawei Technologies, the developer of unmanned vehicles Neolix Huitong Technology, the provider of digital traffic management solutions Banma Network Technology, as well as Navinfo, a company specializing in creating intelligent navigation maps.

At the moment, there are 1003 roads in Shanghai for testing unmanned vehicles, the total length of which is over 2 thousand kilometers.

Companies developing autonomous driving systems must first undergo road testing before putting their self-driving cars into commercial use.
