A meeting of Turkmen and Afghan women entrepreneurs was held in Ashgabat
A meeting of Turkmen and Afghan women entrepreneurs took place today at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, on the sidelines of the first Turkmen-Afghan business forum.
As previously reported, the trade and economic delegation of the neighboring country that arrived in Ashgabat, headed by Minister of Industry and Trade Nuruddin Azizi, included 15 women.
Among them are those who at a high level represent the interests of women's businesses in the Afghan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, heads and top managers of companies specializing in the food industry, the production of carpets, genuine leather products, jewelry and other handicraft products.
The Afghan group of women was led by Feriba Naseri, who spoke about the work of each member of the delegation she led, and each participant in the forum added a story about herself and her business.
The Turkmen side was represented by women of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Turkmen businesswomen at the meeting represented such areas as artistic carpet weaving, fashion and style, floristry, jewelry, and the IT sector.
As the landmark meeting took place ahead of International Women's Day, the two delegations' introductions gave way to an exchange of views on the indispensable contributions of women across a wide range of industries. The participants shared their successes and achievements, as well as their plans for the near future.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of signing a memorandum between the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and the Women's Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Afghanistan.
At the end of the meeting, Turkmen women entrepreneurs presented their Afghan colleagues, and from that day on to their friends, with memorable gifts and bouquets of flowers.
