Following the meeting between Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Erdogan, documents on cooperation were signed
The national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Antalya today, March 1.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked the head of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan for accepting the invitation to visit Turkey and take part in the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, taking the opportunity, once again congratulated the head of Turkey on his 70th birthday, as well as on being awarded the title of "Honorary Elder of Turkmenistan" and conveyed to him warm greetings, congratulations and best wishes from President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
On the occasion of the anniversary, the Turkish leader was presented with the national Turkmen ichmek, an item of outerwear made of leather, yellow in color and with embroidery and ornaments.
Following the meeting, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan noted with satisfaction the high level of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation. It was emphasized that bilateral relations, based on the historically established community of our peoples, are successfully developing across their entire spectrum: in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. At the same time, it was noted that by strengthening the multi–vector partnership, Turkmenistan and Turkey proceed from the principle of "One nation – two states", which serves as a solid foundation for constructive interaction - both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, the TDH said.
At the end of the meeting, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents took place. Among them: a Declaration of Intent on cooperation in the field of hydrocarbon resources between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey; a Memorandum of mutual cooperation on the development of partnership in the field of natural gas between the State Concern Turkmengaz and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey; a Memorandum of Understanding between JSC Turkmenistan Airlines and the University of the Turkish Association aeronautics.
