Trucking firm transports tons of snow from north to south China to entertain special children

A Chinese commercial transport company paid nearly $28,000 to transport tens of tons of snow from the frozen northern city of Harbin to a school for special needs children in the tropical southern metropolis of Guangzhou.
Officially, it was a demonstration of refrigerated trucks from Beijing Truck Home Information Technology, but for the drivers and staff participating in the event, the main thing was to see the joy of the children. The idea came to company executives when they were planning to test their new cold chain truck models on a long-distance journey.
Having covered a distance of 3,300 kilometers from Harbin to Guangzhou in four days, the convoy arrived at the Xinzhi Children's Development Center. The trucks had banners that read, “Let's have a snowball fight?”
Then the snow was unloaded and almost 2,000 children with autism and other disabilities, as well as their parents and teachers, had the opportunity to have fun.

“We are donating snow to a special school in the south, giving children the opportunity to experience the joy of playing in the snow and making snowmen,” an employee of the trucking company said.
School teachers told the South China Morning Post that some children in Xinzhi had never seen snow. It's too far away and their parents don't have the resources.

“It was a lesson from nature. We usually give them pictures in class and say this is snow and this is a snowman,” one teacher said. “This time they actually saw real snow.”
Another teacher said “they had a great time.” Positive stories about this spread like wildfire on Chinese social media, and the comments section was full of well wishes for the company for thinking about these children.
“The snow may be cold, but everyone’s heart has completely melted,” one commentator poetically noted. “The fleet did not transport snow, but love,” another online observer said.
