More than 100,000 tourists from Turkmenistan visited Uzbekistan in 2023
The number of tourists from Turkmenistan who visited the sights of Uzbekistan in 2023 amounted to 100.3 thousand people. According to this indicator, Turkmenistan took the 6th place among the countries from which tourists most often came to Uzbekistan last year. According to the data provided, the total number of tourists who visited Uzbekistan from January to December 2023 has almost reached the pre-pandemic level, amounting to 6.6 million people. Compared to 2022, this number increased by 1.4 million people, or 26.6%. During the pandemic, only about 1.5 million people arrived in Uzbekistan in 2020, and 1.8 million tourists in 2021. In 2019, slightly more than 6.7 million foreigners visited the republic.
The main influx of tourists, namely, more than 90%, fell on four CIS countries: Tajikistan — 2.15 million people (annual growth of 49.6%); Kyrgyzstan — 1.75 million people (+30.1%); Kazakhstan — 1.33 million people (-14%); Russia — 714.3 thousand people (+25.8%).
Turkmenistan is located in the list between Turkey — 106.5 thousand tourists and India — 45.5 thousand people.
