Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated Turkmen diplomats on their professional holiday
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomatic workers of Turkmenistan on their professional holiday. In an address on this occasion, the head of state noted that over the past years the administrative and personnel structure of domestic diplomacy has been strengthened, solid experience and knowledge has been accumulated, and methods and skills in this area have been improved.
“Today, the diplomatic service, as an attribute of the state apparatus, performs strategic functions to ensure peace and security in the country, develop favorable conditions for internal development, maintain an atmosphere of friendship and good neighborliness, and interstate partnership,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted.
In recent years, a number of important decisions have been made to expand the country’s diplomatic participation on the world stage, and during this period the number of embassies, consulates and representative offices of our country at international organizations has almost doubled.
“Today we can fully assert that the foreign policy and diplomacy of Turkmenistan play an important role in the international arena, have a positive impact on the formation of the modern agenda, and enjoy the authority and recognition of our partners. This is confirmed by the unanimous support of 25 resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly initiated by our country,” the message says.
Turkmenistan, as a responsible member of the international community, realizing the importance and necessity of concrete steps to solve pressing problems of our time, presented a number of initiatives at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly. Among them is a proposal to develop, under the auspices of the UN, a Global Security Strategy and an initiative for international cooperation in the areas of sustainable development, ecology, energy and transport.
Creating conditions for full-scale regional partnership in Central Asia is a priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy strategy, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized. “Ensuring peace, good neighborliness, cooperation and development in the region has been and remains the main goal of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, which is one of our country’s significant contributions to the stability of the modern world order,” the head of state said.
The President noted that the role and importance of the diplomatic service is currently increasing “to make international relations an important condition for the development of mankind, giving each country a worthy equal place in the world system, promoting the well-being of peoples, peace and trust relationships.”
This fully applies to Turkmen diplomacy, which requires from Turkmen diplomats high patriotism, devotion to the Fatherland, a special level of professionalism, knowledge, competence, and determination in protecting the interests of Turkmenistan, the president’s message said.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked the diplomats for their work and expressed firm confidence that they will complete all assigned tasks, representing our country with dignity and competence in the international arena.
