Representatives of the agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" visited the port of Valencia


The delegation of the agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" (Sea and river routes of Turkmenistan) visited the seaport of Valencia in Spain on January 14-15. The trip was undertaken within the framework of the OSCE project to promote "green" ports on the Caspian Sea, according to the agency's website.
During the visit, representatives of the Turkmenistan Waterways Agency got acquainted with the activities of the Port of Valencia to reduce CO2 emissions and switch to bioenergy, other experimental projects, including the use of tractors and reach stackers (loaders for working with containers) with a hydrogen engine. There was also an exchange of experience in issues related to port management, digitalization of port operations and the application of the principles of sustainable development.
The key objective of the OSCE Green Ports project is to consolidate efforts to transform the Caspian Sea into a logistics center by facilitating trade and shipping.
The Port of Valencia is the fifth busiest seaport in Europe. It ranks first in Spain and second in the Mediterranean basin in container shipping.
