On Thursday, February 15, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Turkey held a meeting with Governor of Istanbul Davut Gul.

Consul General Muhammetnur Ovezov discussed with the governor issues of interaction in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, in particular, there were highlighted.prospects for cooperation in the field of education and strengthening relations between universities of the two countries.

It was also noted that in 2024, various events dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly are being held in Turkmenistan and abroad. The International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) has declared this year the Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi. In addition, the Turkmen city of Anau will fulfill its mission as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

In this context, the interlocutors exchanged views on the progress of the implementation of the joint action plan elaborated by the Consulate General of Turkmenistan and the Istanbul Municipality for 2024.
