Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the head of the Italian engineering holding Leonardo
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received today the head of the Italian company Leonardo S.p.A. Stefano Pontecorvo.
During the meeting, the head of state said that Italy is one of the important partners of Turkmenistan in Europe and these bilateral relations demonstrate progressive dynamics, as reported in the news release of the national State Television and Radio.
It was noted that the negotiations planned during the current visit to Ashgabat of the head of one of the largest engineering holdings in Italy will also contribute to the expansion of effective business cooperation.
Turkmenistan, which consistently implements a foreign policy based on the status of permanent neutrality, and Italy successfully interact on a multilateral basis, within the framework of international organizations, including the UN and its structures. This is also clearly evidenced by the support provided by Italy to the initiatives put forward by our country aimed at ensuring global peace, prosperity and sustainable development.
Fruitful contacts between Turkmenistan and Italian companies in the trade and economic sphere, energy and other industries, and in the private sector have multifaceted potential, taking into account the country’s focus on the widespread introduction of advanced technologies and innovations in all sectors of the economy.
The prospects for cooperation in the field of using the capabilities of the national satellite TürkmenÄlem 52°E were also assessed. In this context, it was noted that Turkmenistan is ready to consider specific proposals from Leonardo S.p.A.
