The Foreign Minister held meetings in Dubai with the leadership of the UAE and IRENA energy companies


Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Reshid Meredov held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai. On Monday, February 12, the Minister met with the Managing Director and Executive Director of the Department of Electrification and Water Supply of Dubai (DEWA) Saeed Al Thayer.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the water, economic and electric power sectors. In this context, the development of renewable energy sources has been identified as a promising area of Turkmen-Emirati cooperation, the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
On the same day, Reshid Meredov held talks with the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the UAE, Director General of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Sultan Ahmed Al-Jaber. In particular, they talked about establishing contacts on the introduction of advanced UAE technologies in the oil industry, as well as the implementation of agreements reached at the leadership level of the two states. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (MASDAR) Mohammed Jamil Al-Ramahi.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan also met with Deputy Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Gauri Singh. In the context of expanding cooperation, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of opening an IRENA office in Turkmenistan.
