The award ceremony of 1 million US dollars was held in the Ak Bugday district
The award ceremony of 1 million US dollars to the administration of the Ak Bugday district of the Ahal region, which became the best district in the country in terms of socio-economic indicators for 2023, took place on Monday, with the participation of honored guests and local residents.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in a congratulatory address sent to the residents of Ak Bugday on this occasion, noted that their achievements in various fields demonstrate hard work, and expressed confidence that they will achieve great labor victories in all directions in the future.
The choice of the winner of the annual competition for the title of the best district of the country is determined by the combined assessment of many indicators, including the implementation of the national rural program providing for the improvement of the social and living conditions of villagers, success in agriculture, in particular, the fulfillment of contractual obligations for the production of wheat and cotton, infrastructure development and effective solution of employment issues the local population, the organization of its cultural and sports activities.
The workers of Ak Bugday are known for their deep agricultural traditions, they cultivate arable land, orchards and vineyards, develop animal husbandry and greenhouses, fully providing themselves with their own food products and supplying them to the markets of the country and abroad. Today, new industrial facilities, social and cultural buildings have been built here, and the Bagabat sanatorium is popular among Turkmen residents.
The economic potential of the district was demonstrated by the exhibition organized here. On the occasion of the significant event, performances by artists and sports demonstration programs were also organized, as well as the preparation of traditional festive dishes followed by treats for all participants of the celebration.
