Bio- and hydrogen fuel production is on the agenda of the Indian Energy Week in Goa
The Second India Energy Week 2024 (India Energy Week 2024) is taking place in Goa in southwest India from February 6 to 9, 2024.
The event is organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil and Natural Gas of the Government of India and is supported by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI).
The largest conference and exhibition of its kind is dedicated to energy security and the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.
It brought together over 35,000 participants, 400 speakers and more than 4,000 delegates from more than 100 countries – politicians, business leaders and representatives of the oil and gas industries to discuss cooperation, open new opportunities and strengthen partnerships.
Within the framework of the conference, specialized pavilions of Russia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States were opened, innovative solutions of small and medium-sized enterprises of India in the energy sector were presented.
One of the central topics of the meeting is the production of biofuels, which can be created from plants and agricultural or household biowaste. CCS technologies - processes of carbon capture, utilization and storage, production of hydrogen fuel - will also be discussed.
Speaking at the opening of Energy Week in Goa, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India ranked third in the world in terms of energy consumption and added that $67 billion will be invested in the country's energy sector in the next five to six years.
According to the Prime Minister, domestic gas production in India is growing rapidly. In this regard, the country is making efforts to increase the share of gas in the structure of primary energy consumption from 6 to 15%.
