Turkmenistan and Russia discussed cooperation in the field of control over the use of pesticides in the production of agricultural products


A meeting of employees of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Agriculture of Turkmenistan with employees of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance took place in the video link format. This is reported by the official website of the Russian department.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of bilateral cooperation in the field of control over the use of pesticides in the production of agricultural products.
Turkmen specialists expressed their readiness to exchange experience with the Rosselkhoznadzor in this area, as well as to conclude a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of pesticides and agrochemicals. Currently, this document is at the approval stage.
In turn, representatives of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance expressed interest in conducting field inspections on the territory of Turkmenistan, which will allow assessing state control over the use of pesticides.
According to the Federal Law "On the Safe Handling of Pesticides and Agrochemicals", the Rosselkhoznadzor is authorized to carry out inspections of foreign enterprises for the production of agricultural products, places of shipment and laboratories where batches are checked before shipment.
