Turkey celebrated historic success in tourism last year

One of the world's leading tourism regions, Turkey attracted 56.7 million tourists in 2023, marking a 10% increase compared to previous years. The country's tourism revenue increased 17% to $54.3 billion, with average nightly visitor spending of $99. This was announced by Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, at a meeting in Istanbul.
Ersoy also noted that Turkey has revised its strategy by expanding the range of tourism products.
“We see the positive impact of diversification of tourism products on average length of stay when we offer short-term products such as international events, sports tournaments and festivals,” the minister emphasized.
This year, the country predicts a further increase in the flow of tourists to 60 million and an increase in tourism revenues to 60 billion dollars.
