The Turkmen shipyard "Balkan" will be preparing for certification according to ISO standards

The Turkmen shipyard "Balkan" expects a number of innovations for further certification for compliance with ISO standards, which will become another serious competitive advantage of the enterprise in the foreign market. Proposals on this issue were voiced by Korean partners, according to the website of the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant.
At a meeting between representatives of the plant and a delegation from Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology, issues of moving towards the start of practical implementation of a joint project for the construction of two dry cargo ships with a capacity of 6,100 tons according to a contract signed in September 2023 were considered.
Highly qualified Korean engineers will train specialists of the Balkan shipyard in Korean shipbuilding technologies. The plant will also introduce quality management, occupational safety and environmental management systems.
Earlier it was reported that at the Balkan plant, together with partners, it is planned to put into operation the first dry cargo ship in 14 months of production, the second two months later and the third two months later.
The capacity of the national shipyard is designed for the construction of 4 ships and the repair of 20 ships per year.
The Balkan Shipbuilding and Repair Plant was commissioned in May 2018 as part of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. After some time, the company received the legal form of an open joint-stock company.
