MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will host the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held throughout North America - in the USA, Mexico and Canada, the FIFA press service reports.
The decisive match of the tournament will take place in the American city of East Rutherford on July 19. The current capacity of MetLife Stadium is 82.5 thousand spectators, but by the start of the 2026 World Cup it will be expanded to 87.2 thousand. The stadium is located half an hour from the center of New York.
The semifinal matches of the 2026 World Cup will be held in Arlington (a suburb of Dallas) and Atlanta. The match for third place will take place in Miami.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19. The tournament will be held according to a new system: the number of tournament participants will be expanded from 32 to 48, and the number of matches - from 64 to 104.
