According to official statistics, the number of Russian citizens who visited Uzbekistan as tourists in 2023 increased by 25.8% compared to the previous year, reaching 714.2 thousand people.

And for 2024, forecast indicators for attracting foreign tourists have been adopted - up to 9.96 million people (+1.5 times compared to 2023). It is planned to attract 1.46 million people from Russia this year. This is twice as much as the previous one.

They plan to implement this idea with the help of the “Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia” program, the “Travel to Uzbekistan” advertising campaign in major Russian cities and the introduction of a system of transport discounts for tour operators.

Previously, the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan assumed that the flow of tourists from Russia in 2023 would be about 800 thousand people, and by 2025 - a million people. Russia remains a strategic partner of Uzbekistan in the field of tourism. Russian tourists occupy fourth place in visiting Uzbekistan, second only to guests from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
