USAID YDA’s TechYouth Bootcamp program trained young IT professionals in Mary

In January 2024, USAID Youth Development Activity (YDA) in partnership with the Akylly Hyzmat Economic Society’s Training Center, successfully completed the Mary cycle of the TechYouth Bootcamp program. As part of the six-month program, 33 participants acquired professions in one of the following two areas: 1) IT system maintenance and administration; and 2) graphic design.
USAID YDA’s TechYouth Bootcamp program is aimed at training young IT professionals and offers intensive courses with a full immersion in a bootcamp format. The goal of the program is to equip youth with professional skills, enhancing their job prospects.
The first cycle of the Program was successfully implemented in Ashgabat from December 2022 to June 2023, and the second cycle took place in Mary from July 14, 2023, to January 17, 2024.
During the program’s Mary cycle, 33 participants mastered in-demand IT skills, with over 20 securing jobs with leading companies in Mary province even before they completed the course.

On January 17, USAID YDA and Akylly Hyzmat economic society held a certificate ceremony to honor the program graduates at the society’s Algorithm training center. During the ceremony representatives of private companies that hired program graduates emphasized that the program participants are very well trained and motivated.
Based on the success of the TechYouth Bootcamp program in Ashgabat and Mary, the USAID YDA Project will begin implementing the next cycle of TechYouth Bootcamp in Turkmenabat in February this year.
The TechYouth Bootcamp program exemplifies USAID's dedication to nurturing youth development in Turkmenistan. By offering young people a platform to gain valuable work experience and acquire new skill sets applicable across various industries, this initiative empowers them to succeed in today's competitive job market.
