The draft of the Caspian Convention will be considered by the presidents of the five Caspian littoral states
The draft convention on the legal status of the Caspian will be considered by the presidents of the five Caspian littoral states, who will discuss this most important document in Kazakhstan, most likely in the first half of the coming year. This was stated by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Lavrov at the end of the Moscow meeting with his counterparts from the Caspian countries.
He positively assessed the results of this meeting, noting that the twenty years of painstaking work to determine the legal status of the Caspian is coming to an end.
The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that the summit of the five Caspian littoral states will be held around the first half of 2018 in Kazakhstan and expressed the hope that this document will be approved by the presidents of the "Caspian Five" countries.
