Following the talks held in Beijing on January 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a large package of documents. Among them is an agreement between the relevant departments on the joint construction of the "Air Silk Road".

The day before, Uzbekistan and China agreed to increase the number of mutual flights to 100 per week – 50 flights for each country's airlines. The geography of flights will also be increased: instead of the seven previously defined cities to which flights were operated, the airlines of the two countries will be able to fly to an unlimited number of cities. In addition, an unlimited number of airlines will be able to serve these flights, whereas previously it was about three companies.

These agreements were reached during negotiations between the delegation of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Aviation Administration of the People's Republic of China in Beijing. Following the meeting, the parties signed a protocol. The agreement will enter into force in April this year after a meeting of the competent authorities and the completion of domestic procedures of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
