Ashgabat will host a regional meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in May


During the meeting of the Turkmen government, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov presented to the head of state the idea of holding a regional meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Ashgabat. The Minister of Foreign Affairs proposed to hold a forum aimed at strengthening bilateral partnership in order to promote the policy of neutrality on the world stage in May this year.
At the same time, the idea was voiced about the expediency of more active cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Committee on Combating Terrorism at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed to invite the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Chairman of the Committee on Combating Terrorism at the OSCE PA to visit Turkmenistan in April this year.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the submitted proposals and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure a high level of planned events.
