Ashgabat and Yerevan are preparing a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation


Turkmen Ambassador to Yerevan Muhammetgeldi Ayazov met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan on Wednesday.
During the meeting, issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed, including trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, transport and logistics, scientific and educational, as well as the status of contractual and legal documents.
Ambassador Ayazov informed that the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan in Armenia plans to hold a conference, a concert of masters of arts of Turkmenistan and other events on the occasion of the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great classic Magtymguly.
Issues related to the organization of the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Armenian Commission on Economic Cooperation were touched upon, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The previous 9th meeting of the IPC on economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia was held in September 2022 in Ashgabat.
In 2022, the volume of trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 5.2 million US dollars. Turkmenistan exports to Armenia mainly ore-raw materials, plastic, rubber, knitwear, and imports precious products, ready-made food products.
More than 80 documents have been signed between Armenia and Turkmenistan to date.
