A campaign to elect presidential candidates has begun in the United States

The Republican campaign to choose a candidate for the post of head of state has started in the United States.
On January 15, the first caucuses were held in Iowa — meetings of members of a political party or a political movement. Among the contenders for the right to become a candidate are former US President Donald Trump, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Niki Haley, Florida Governor Ron Desantis and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Donald Trump won a large number of votes at Republican voter meetings in Iowa. After counting over 95% of the votes, Trump has 55.8% of them, Ron Desantis — 23.1%, Nikki Haley — 20.8%.
On the same day, the meeting was held by voters-supporters of the Democratic Party. But the vote will be mailed in the next few weeks. The results of the voting will be known before March 5.
March 5 will be one of the important dates of the electoral calendar. On the so-called super Tuesday, intraparty elections will be held in 16 states and island territories of the United States at once.
The next US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024.
