An art exhibition dedicated to Magtymguly opened in Ashgabat
A new exhibition of works of fine art has opened in the Ashgabat gallery of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan and is dedicated to the classic of national literature Magtymguly, whose 300th anniversary is celebrated this year.
The exhibition, in addition to works by famous masters, presents the best works of students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan and the capital’s art school. The image of the poet appears in the retrospective of centuries and gravitates more towards the present than to the past, because it was to the future that Magtymguly’s perspicacious gaze was turned.
The exhibition is one of many events that are being organized throughout the country and abroad in honor of the anniversary of the great poet. These include cultural and educational events, literary and scientific forums, educational competitions, creativity weeks, theatrical performances and film screenings, etc.
In addition, two important international events on this occasion will be held in Turkmenistan - a conference of ministers of culture in May and a summit with the participation of heads of government in October.
