The President of Turkmenistan expressed condolences to the Emperor and Prime Minister of Japan in connection with the earthquake


President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed deep condolences to Emperor Naruhito and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in connection with the earthquake that occurred in the central region of the country, which led to casualties and injuries.
On behalf of the people and government of the country, as well as on his own behalf, the President of Turkmenistan expressed feelings of deep empathy at this difficult moment for the families, relatives and friends of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those affected by this tragedy.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also sent condolences, the Turkmen State Television and Radio reported in a news release.
An earthquake of magnitude 7.6 occurred on January 1 in Ishikawa Prefecture. The epicenter was on the Noto Peninsula. The number of victims is in the dozens. Many buildings were destroyed and tens of thousands of people left without electricity.
According to the Japanese government, more than 97 thousand people were ordered to evacuate. Rescuers are trying to rescue victims from under the rubble.
