More than 97% of minors in China use the Internet


The number of minors using the Internet has increased in China, China daily reports.
According to the fifth edition of China's national study on Internet use among minors, the number of minor Internet users in the country reached 193 million in 2022.
Between 2018 and 2022, this figure increased from 93.7% to 97.2%.
This trend is obvious: over the past five years, the level of Internet use among primary school students has increased from 89.5% to 95.1%.
Moreover, the gap between the level of World Wide Web use among urban and rural teenagers is gradually narrowing.
Almost 90% of minors have their own devices with Internet access, over 20% of minors use gadgets such as smart watches and lamps, smart dictionaries and others.
Online learning, games, listening to music, watching short videos are the main activities of minors using the Internet.
The share of minors who believe that the Internet has a positive impact on their learning increased from 53% in 2018 to 77.4% in 2022.
It is noteworthy that teenagers are widely paying attention to artificial intelligence. Thus, over 80% of them say that they have heard about artificial intelligence.
