Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Australia appointed


By his decree, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov as the country's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Australia, with residence in Tokyo.
The appointment document was published in the news release of the Turkmen State Television.
Atadurdy Bayramov was appointed Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan in June 2022. Prior to that, he served as the Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation, Kazan.
He officially assumed the post of ambassador to Tokyo, presenting his credentials to Emperor Naruhito of Japan in October last year.
Turkmenistan and the Australian Union (also known as the Commonwealth of Australia) established diplomatic relations on May 14, 1992.
Since February 2023, the Australian Ambassador to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) has been Graham Meehan Leslie.
