Uzbekistan will increase car production by 2030
Uzbekistan intends to increase car production in the country to 1 million units by 2030.
This became known at a meeting to review proposals within the framework of the development of the automobile and agricultural engineering industries.
In this regard, President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of accelerating the transformation of “Uzavtosanoat”, paying special attention to the production of electric vehicles and launching the production of components for them.
Today, the world's leading automakers are switching to the production of electric vehicles. Next year, an automobile plant capable of producing 10 thousand electric vehicles per year will be launched in Uzbekistan.
There is an agricultural engineering cluster in the city of Chirchik. Its annual production capacity is 15 thousand tractors, trailers and other equipment.
The automobile industry is one of the most important industries in Uzbekistan and has developed rapidly in the last 6 years.
The sector's share in the country's GDP increased from 0.6% in 2017 to 1.1% in 2022.
