The Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Iran held a phone conversation


Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan discussed current issues of bilateral relations, as well as some aspects of the regional and international agenda, in a telephone conversation on Monday.
“Amir Abdollahiyan described the ties between the two countries as fraternal. He also called the Iran-Turkmenistan border the border of friendship and stressed the need for Tehran and Ashgabat to expand their friendly relations more than ever before,” the website of the Iranian Foreign Ministry reported.
Rashid Meredov, for his part, pointed to the recent constructive talks with Amirabdollahian in Moscow and he stated the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries, especially in the energy, gas and transport fields.
