Startup forum in Ashgabat: networking and training of future innovative entrepreneurs

The startup forum was held in Ashgabat on December 8, on the eve of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality Day. The event was organized within the framework of the “Startup Ecosystem – 2023” program, which is implemented by the Union of Economists of Turkmenistan and the USAID project for the development of modern professional skills. The goal of the program, which is now in its fourth year, is to promote youth innovative entrepreneurship and the development of the business acceleration services market in Turkmenistan.

The startup forum was held at the Archabil Hotel and brought together more than 100 people from Ashgabat, Dashoguz and Mary, including participants from all acceleration companies, which were six organizations from among the country's leading training centers, recruitment agencies and consulting firms.

The event became a platform for program participants to meet and communicate with each other, as well as with volunteer mentors - graduates of the “School of Mentors” project of the National Public Association “Union of Economists of Turkmenistan”, obtaining new knowledge and skills for a successful transition to the acceleration stage of the “Startup- ecosystem". In the future, mentors-tutors - experienced specialists from business, public and international organizations selected and trained within the framework of the “School of Mentors” project - will help young entrepreneurs in creating a new business and successfully entering the market with it.
During the forum, master classes were held from local and international experts on topics such as current trends in e-commerce, familiarization with international experience in creating startup ecosystems, and successful presentation of business projects.

At the end of the forum, its participants noted the importance of the Startup Ecosystem program, as it helps to develop innovative entrepreneurship in the

country. The program will continue in 2024 with an acceleration stage and preparation of participants for the final competition of business projects.
