100 Turkish companies present their products at an exhibition in Ashgabat


An exhibition of export goods of the Republic of Turkey, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan jointly with the Turkish company Meridýen Uluslararası Fuarcılık, opened in Ashgabat.
A large delegation of representatives of Turkish government agencies, managers and specialists from about 100 companies arrived to participate in the review. A significant part of the exhibitors are demonstrating their capabilities in Turkmenistan for the first time.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Cevdet Yilmaz said that Turkey is ready to increase investments in Turkmenistan and make a significant contribution to its infrastructure projects. Yilmaz noted that the development of trade and economic relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan in recent years is encouraging. According to him, Turkey ranks second in Turkmenistan's exports and first in imports.

Last year, trade between the two countries exceeded $2 billion. “We are working to achieve the $5 billion trade volume target set by our presidents as soon as possible,” Yilmaz said. He also added that Turkey has invested $147 million in Turkmenistan and Turkish contractors have implemented 1,080 projects worth $51 billion in Turkmenistan.
After the speeches, Yilmaz and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdayev opened the fair by cutting the ribbon.

The exhibition presents equipment and components for industrial sectors and agriculture, building materials, household appliances and electronics, household goods, textiles, food, etc.
Today, Ashgabat also hosted a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen- Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation and the Turkmen-Turkish Business Forum.
