Turkmenistan can supply "blue fuel" to European consumers and to CIS countries
Turkmenistan's gas potential allows deliveries of fuel to European consumers and to the Commonwealth. Such a message at the session of the Energy Charter Conference in Ashgabat was made by the acting State Minister of Turkmenistan - Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" Myrat Archayev. According to the head of the Turkmen gas department, the country's fuel and energy complex has a functioning pipeline system, which previously exported gas to Russia and other Commonwealth states. The head of Turkmengaz stressed that if the fundamental principles of the Energy Charter Treaty are applied and an agreement is reached with the transit countries, this gas pipeline system can be used to deliver natural gas from Turkmenistan to consumers in Europe and the CIS. He also reminded the participants of the Conference that Turkmenistan is the largest player in the Chinese gas market. Transportation of Turkmen "blue fuel" to the Middle Kingdom is carried out through the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline. The existing pipeline system makes it possible to provide environmentally friendly fuel to the northern provinces of neighboring Iran. Turkmenistan holds the leading position in the world in terms of the reserves of the "blue fuel" - the fourth place after Russian Federation, Iran and Qatar.
