The floor was also given to President of the Japanese news agency Kyodo News Toru Mizutani, head of the Reuters agency Sue Brooks, and the First Deputy Director General of TASS Mikhail Gusman. In addition, executives from People's Daily, Associated Press, Agence France-Presse and other speakers spoke.

The cross-cutting theme in all the speeches was the possibilities of new technologies in the media and artificial intelligence - the most important invention in the Internet era. The speakers expressed the opinion that, despite all its phenomenal abilities, AI in journalism does not replace humans, being only an assistant for mechanical work. The main face in journalism remains the person, his soul and talent.

It was also about the dominance of social networks, which are the main channels for disseminating information, but also the main sources of fakes, which can look very reliable if there are photo, video content or documents. Today, the fight against fakes should move to the right field.

In general, it is necessary to adapt the media to rapidly changing digital technologies, and the World Media Summit platform provides an opportunity to exchange views on this topic and find joint solutions.

The event will take place until December 8 in the cities of Guangzhou and Kunming, where participants will discuss strategies in various sessions and meetings.
