The Turkmenbashi International Seaport futsal team “Denizchi” became the winner of the Turkmenistan Futsal Premier League.
In the final round of the championship, Denizchi futsal players defeated the Migration team with a score of 5:2 and scored a total of 52 points. Thus, they were ahead of the Kopetdag team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan by 1 point. The bronze medal of the championship went to the Gumrukchi team of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, which scored 40 points.
Thus, Denizchi got the opportunity to play in the AFC Champions League, which will be held in 2024. It should be noted that this is the fourth victory of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port team, which has been participating in the championship since 2009.
Prior to this, the team of the International Seaport of Turkmenistan achieved similar successes in 2015, 2021 and 2022.
The team is led by Yakub Ovezov, who has been the team's head coach since 2011. Under his leadership, Denizchi won two silver medals at the national championships in 2014 and 2018, three bronze medals in 2012, 2019 and 2020, as well as the Turkmenistan Cup twice in 2016 and 2018 and the Main Cup of the country's decisive game in 2019.
