The Turkmen-Azerbaijani business forum outlined new approaches to the development of business partnership
In Ashgabat, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, on Tuesday, November 28, a Turkmen-Azerbaijani business forum was held. Representatives of government agencies and business communities of the two countries took part in the business event, including companies in the oil and gas sector, textile and food industries, transport and logistics, as well as those specializing in the fields of agriculture, construction and production of building materials, pharmaceuticals, information technology, etc.
At the business forum, Azerbaijani partners were informed about the priorities of Turkmenistan’s economic strategy, including the development of market mechanisms and increasing the share of the private sector in the country’s GDP. In this context, the activities of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan are presented, and the investment climate, which creates favorable conditions for attracting foreign companies, is described.
It was noted that agreements on the promotion and protection of investments, the elimination of double taxation, the management of state property, cooperation in the field of small and medium-sized enterprises formed a solid basis for a sustainable and effective economic partnership.
During the business forum, approaches to further building business partnerships in a number of key areas were specified. Members of the delegations of the two countries voiced specific proposals to increase the volume of mutual trade turnover and diversify trade and economic relations.
As reported in the news release of the Turkmen State Television and Radio, within the framework of the forum, separate negotiations were held between representatives of the business circles of both countries and a number of bilateral documents were signed.
