Made in India: Google starts producing its smartphones in India
Google has announced that it is starting production of Pixel smartphones in India. The manufacturer's blog reports that from 2024, the "Indian assembly" will start with the Pixel 8 model.
Now most of the later products, including the Pixel series devices, are manufactured in Vietnam. Google devices were also manufactured in different parts of Asia, mainly in China. In 2019, the company began to move the production of its phones outside the country and named the capacities of India as a promising site.
"We are very excited to announce our plan to produce Pixel smartphones in India. We intend to start with the Pixel 8 model and will cooperate with international and domestic manufacturers for the local production of Pixel smartphones. We expect that the release of these devices will begin in 2024, which will be part of the local initiative "Made in India," Google reports.
