Baku Declaration of the SPECA Member States Summit

The first summit of the participating states of the UN Special Program for the Economies of Central Asian Countries (SPECA) has ended in Baku. Following the Summit, the Baku Declaration was adopted, the Azertac news agency reports.

The document was signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

They agreed to strengthen the role of SPECA as a platform for economic cooperation and permanent dialogue, to create the necessary mechanisms that will ensure regular dialogue and effective coordination of activities within this international structure.

By adopting the declaration, the parties pledged to continue close cooperation, reflecting the common desire to support the sustainable and steady economic development of the SPECA region for a greener and safer future.

The Baku Declaration will be implemented by the relevant ministries of the participating States of the program in coordination with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and other international institutions.
