The representatives of railway authorities of Kazakhstan, China, Turkmenistan and Iran held a meeting in Astana, says the press service of the national company "Kazakhstan temir zholy". The sides, emphasizing the high potential of the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railroad transit line, spoke in favor of establishing regular container transportations. To this end, the meeting has identified the national operators responsible for organizing the stable traffic of container trains along this railway corridor. The agenda also included issues related to the development and approval of competitive tariff rates. The mutual understanding and arrangement reached during the meeting are reflected in the final Protocol. In Astana, the guests visited the transport logistics center and the railway station complex "Nurly Zhol". The first container transportations on the route China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran were successfully tested in February last year. The total length of the railway route is about 10 thousand kilometers, underway time is 14 days. Considering that the traditional sea route takes 25-30 days, the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran corridor offers a profitable logistics solution for the delivery of goods from the eastern China to Persian Gulf markets.
