The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation discussed by telephone the development of relations between the two countries


Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including regional issues. This was reported on the website of the Russian diplomatic service following a telephone conversation.
“The parties discussed current issues in bilateral relations, as well as issues on the regional agenda,” the statement said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed gratitude to the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Moscow Batyr Niyazliev, who is completing his mission in Russia, for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations at the strategic level.
“Sergey Lavrov thanked Batyr Niyazliev for his high professionalism, constructive cooperation, and significant contribution to the development of Russian-Turkmen relations of in-depth strategic partnership,” the Russian Foreign Ministry noted following the meeting, which took place on November 17.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov appointed Esen Aydogdyev as the new Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation.
