The route of the Silk Road Rally 2024 is presented
The 14th edition of the largest race in Eurasia will take place in mid-summer, from July 5 to 15, 2024, and will take place across the territories of three countries.
The coming 2024 is a special year for the Silk Road International Rally. The project, whose first race took place in 2009, will be 15 years old. During these years, the Silk Road Rally unites countries and peoples, culture and history, challenges the impossible and remains one of the brightest sports competitions in the world. And next year, the Rally Management will offer Silk Road participants a new interesting and diverse route, according to the project's website.
The race will allow you to see the beauty and unique diversity of natural landscapes in a new way, connecting the diverse routes of Russia, Mongolia and China with a single route. The crews will have to return to Altai, the special stages of which in 2021 impressed the participants with their unique character — frequent changes of pace and high-speed segments that allow them to feel the full power of technology, as well as majestic mountains and landscapes. Then the athletes are waiting for the incredible beauty of the landscapes of Dzungaria in Western Mongolia, as well as the Gobi Desert with its dunes and sands. The final part of the route will take place in the People's Republic of China through landscapes, as if created specifically for rally raids.
Administrative and technical inspections will be held on July 4 and 5 in Tomsk, and after their completion, the rally's ceremonial start ceremony will take place on the evening of July 5. During 11 stages, the crews will have to fight in different climatic conditions and on different surfaces — from permafrost zones to sun-dried deserts, and the grand finish ceremony will take place on July 15 in Khorgos, China.
The Silk Road Rally traditionally attracts the best pilots and the strongest teams. Fans will have a battle in the categories of SUVs, ATVs, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs, as well as in the G-Moto Challenge, which has already become familiar to the audience, the participants of which go to the distance alone, without the help of service crews and mechanics at the bivouac.
