Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the new Ambassador of Japan discussed the potential and priorities of cooperation
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received on Monday, November 13, the new Ambassador of Japan to Turkmenistan, Sasaki Hiroshi.
The Plenipotentiary Representative of Japan presented credentials to the head of Turkmenistan and conveyed greetings from Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who noted Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s great contribution to the modern development of Turkmen-Japanese relations, the solid foundation of which was laid by the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The diplomat expressed his country’s deep interest in strengthening relations with Turkmenistan. Japan is also an important partner country for Turkmenistan, bilateral cooperation with which is of a strategic nature, it was noted at the talks.
In this context, the important role of intergovernmental committees on economic cooperation, whose activities are aimed at combining the potentials of the two countries in the common interests, was emphasized.
According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, today the economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan should be based on the latest achievements of science and technology, technologies and innovative experience. In this aspect, the President emphasized the successful work of large Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, it was reported in the evening news release of the Turkmen State Television.
The Head of State and the Ambassador exchanged views on a wide range of issues of the political, diplomatic, trade and economic component of bilateral cooperation, highly appreciated the importance of joint cultural events and fruitful contacts in the field of education, in particular, the training of Turkmen specialists in Japan.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence in the great prospects of relations between the two countries, both in politics, economy and trade, as well as in culture, science and tourism.
