President Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in Ankara on an official visit


Having flown to Ankara, the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Turkey began.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov went on an official visit to Turkey, departing from Ashgabat International Airport on Wednesday.
After flying to Ankara, the presidential airliner landed at the Esenboga International Airport in the capital of the Turkish Republic, decorated with the National flags of the two countries, TDH news agency reports.
During his visit, Serdar Berdimuhamedov will meet with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the heads of state will exchange views on bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as current international events.
Diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey were established on February 29, 1992. The two countries have accumulated a rich and positive experience of large-scale cooperation.
On December 6, 2007, the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission for Economic Cooperation was established.
While trade relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan are growing rapidly, the goal is to increase the volume of trade, which exceeded $2 billion in 2021, to $5 billion in the short term and to $10 billion in the long term.
In 2022, Turkmenistan hosted the first summit of the heads of state of Turkey-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan, during which the development of cooperation in the field of energy and the special importance of natural gas supplies were emphasized.
